Biography

妖精帝國 (Yousei Teikoku, meaning Fairy Empire) is a two-member Japanese gothic electronica band formed in 1997. Produced by TEAM FAIRITHM, 妖精帝國 worked together as an indie band for several years before being picked up by their current publisher Lantis. They are quite well known in anime circles, having performed theme songs for Magical Pokan, Innocent Venus and Venus Versus Virus, among others.

Concept

According to their website, 妖精帝國 is attempting to revive the Fairy Empire that exists between our world and the next. Humans have a long-forgotten belief in fairies buried deep in the purest parts of our hearts. Through music, 妖精帝國's purpose is to make humans remember that pure heart inside ourselves, and believe in fairies once more.

Members

妖精 Yui
Fairy Yui (real name 伊月ゆい, Itsuki Yui) is the vocalist of 妖精帝國, also forming the operatic chorus that supports the band in many of their songs. She also collaborates on writing the band's lyrics. Having been involved in many of TEAM FAIRITHM projects in the past, Yui is also a seiyuu, having provided voices for several small parts in various anime.

橘尭葉
Takaha Tachibana is the composer, arranger and lyricist of 妖精帝國, as well as performing instrumentation on all songs, specifically keyboards and guitar. He has also worked with the rock band kukui. Due to his somewhat background position in the band, fans often mistake 妖精帝國 to be Yui and Yui alone.
